Halo Spark Plugs

I don't know how many of you have came across the spark plug, but I came about it a while ago when a couple of fellow Jeeper's were talking about how the Jeep JK would only run good on copper plugs.

The Plug is called the Halo plug, and they were discussing on whether or not to try it out. Contrary to all of those other EXPENSIVE plugs that use "pulse" technology and cost $24.99 or more, These plugs only cost about 8 bucks per plug for my vehicle. 3 times less than the magical "pulse" plugs

They ARE spark plugs, using spark, the only difference is in design, using a circular, open-ring ground electrode, instead of a center firing electrode. SO it fires Through the center. I'm not sure if it's a gimmick or what, but it's definitely cheaper than the "pulse" plugs.

Check it out and tell me what you think of them. It seems believable, but without true data that I know of (tested by someone honest and not paid to say good things) I still remain skeptical.

Here's a quote from it that makes it more believable.

“I want to thank you for making such a fine product. Claims of 10-20% fuel savings are true as I drive a Ford Excursion with the 6.8L V-10 engine. I had been getting 14 highway and 10 city. I now get 16 highway and 12 city, a nice 20% boost in savings. It may not seem like a big boost, but 88 more miles per tankful at $3.15 a gallon adds up quick. Thanks so much and keep up the good work.”

Fundamentally, once the mixture is lit, it's lit. A fire doesn't burn hotter because you use a bigger match to light it; a bigger spark won't make the fuel/air mixture burn any hotter either. I have carried out many engine experiments involving changing ignition energy, and while there are some marginal benefits in extreme conditions (cold, damp, etc), the overall effect on power and fuel consumption on any modern engine is negligible
