Just keep them in safe running condition with a clean windshield. But I look forward to getting my 1981 BMW R65 back together (blown tranny) and maybe getting a new Honda CRF230M late next year.

I,ve got a R 65 and it really pisses off the harley riders when they find out their boots and leathers cost more than my bike did.
When someone tells me they have a harley I ask what kind of trailer they haul it in.

Harley miles are like dog years.

I respect that people like different types of bikes than I do, but Harley guys are often asking me when I'm going to "get a real bike". My reply;

You mean real fast?
Or real reliable?
How about real affordable?

I ride a 2001 CBR600 F4i that I purchased in 2002 for $5,500. There are faster bikes now, but nothing I've seen so far that strikes the balance of everyday comfort and track day performance. This bike has also ruined me for anything with carbs.

I am admittedly a Harley fan. I have often in my Mustang days shied away from Shelby and Mach I owners because of their tendency to be pompous. In general car terms, I shied away from BMW's for the same reasons. Yet, when it comes to bikes, I go to Harley. Why?

1. I like their bikes
2. Resale
3. Brotherhood. The community is like no other. HOG is a second-to-none at fostering pride and the riding lifestyle.
4. Aftermarket

As a kid growing up, in a family of non-riders, Harley is also the first and last name you hear. There's other bikes I like - Triumph Street- and Speed Triples, Ducati Monsters adn Streetfighters, Yamaha V-Maxes, Honda CB's and 599's - but when it comes to motorcycles, I instinctually, subconsciously come to Harley first. It doesn't hurt that my Nightster fits me far, FAR better than my Honda Shadow did, too, both physically and in a fashion sense (I am pretty well into 40's/50's rockabilly and swing dance kulture).
