Have we heard of fungal diesel yet?

Apparently they have found a fungus that converts plant waste into an even cleaner and more efficient burning diesel.

Fungal diesel could revolutionise fuel production - earth - 04 November 2008 - New Scientist Environment

Whoah, that's pretty wild. Probably not something you could do in the garage, though.

This is pretty awesome Especially if there's little to no design changes necessary

I heard an Interview with the Montana Professor on NPR the other day. It sounds promising if they can grow enough of it -- and get it going quickly.

I heard about this a few times! If you have Sirius Satellite Radio and listen to Bubba the Love Sponge's show on channel 101 he has a friend that is trying to bring this process to the United States. He has plans to build a processing center in Arizona...of course all of this is very preliminary.

Originally I heard that the waste is converted to liquid and then vapor but this may be new information on this process. Sounds interesting.

Montana...even better! And anyone that can produce fuel from an alternate energy source is brilliant. Hopefully he can build his own processing site or hook on with someone with alot of cash to get it done. Either way...progress is progress!

Not to be confused with Patagonia, AZ., which is south of Tuscon.

Looks promising.

I'm sure the Europeans and Asians will enjoy using it.

No joy for Americans. Tier II killed the diesel in the US.

Every time you say that, I put $1 in a jar. So far, I have enough to retire.
