I kept an eye on the battery for 10 hours, and made this plot:

Needing to go to bed, I put the grid charger on a timer to run for 4 more hours, and the cooling fan to run for 5 more hours. I don't know what the final voltage ended up being, as I wasn't awake, but after 10 hours it was probably close, at 176.3v. In similar weather, my Insight's pack generally gets up to 170-173v, and I believe peak voltage is (somewhat) an indicator of pack health, lower being better. Still, I'll see what it does. Maybe I can get that to come down a bit after a discharge cycle.

How are you liking the Michelin Defenders? Our HCH will need new tires soonish. The Defenders seem a lot more expensive, then some non LRR tires. Have they made a difference in MPGs in your experience?

Most winter tires are relatively LRR, and I've only had winter tires and the Defenders on this particular car so I don't have a lot of basis for comparison. However, on my Insight the difference between a good LRR tire (Defender, RE92, Dunlop Ensave) vs a normal touring tire can be 10-20%, or as much as 20mpg when cruising at low highway speeds (80 vs 100). The Defenders also last an extremely long time, and seem to have a good tread pattern for light snow. I probably would not put a non-LRR tire on it, regardless of price.

I put defenders on mine after going through a new set of B381s.

There was definitely a BIG drop when brand new from my worn B381s, like 5 mpg. The drop after break-in was probably more like 2 mpg. Some, but not huge. I'd imagine non LRR tires would be significantly worse.
