Hello All

Hi from Pennsylvania. I have a 1986 Honda Nighthawk that is going to become my first attempt at an electric bike. I need a winter project anyway!!

Most bikes and bike kits I have read about have been in the $1000 - $2000 range. Since I'm a cheap bastich I'm shooting for no more than $500.

I'm looking forward to seeing what you guys have done and I WILL be asking tons of question!

Welcome to ecomodder! There's a few good examples here, and I'm sure your questions will be answered.

What're your performance goals for the project?

Glad to have you here! There is some good info right here on the forums for your winter project and plenty of people to help!

BTW, check out the link in the bottom of my signature for the Ohio/Pennsylvania gather.

My initial performance goals are to just get something that works. Ultimately, I would like to be able to go 30 miles with a top speed of 50mph. I think that is attainable from all I've read. Again, I'm new and cheap. If I can get close to that with junk parts and self fabbed parts I'll be happy.
