hi
new here but not to small cars. I've been running VW's since 1975 . got my first Metro in 1990. I'm on NO. 10 now . other than the 2 that died as twisted hulks , they all served me well.
latest is a 1999 2 door , 1.0 motor it has a 5 speed with high speed gears . a power pulley, 2 inch open exhaust,& advanced cam gear, it gets about 50 MPG depending on how i drive.
just got a Dahatsu Midget II with 40.000 kilometers on it and have had a 5 speed overdrive shipped from Japan for it . it got a bit over 50 on the first tank but i hope to improve on that with the installation of the OD transmission.
neat site here I've already picked op some good ideas to try .
thanks
Larry

i used them to deliver space walks and commute to work . 2,000 miles a week was not unusual for me. i gave up the jumping biz ( doc told me to stop!) but i still rack up about 600 miles a week . my current car has 140,000 miles. the pic is of a bobcat that my kid raised , she even potty trained it.

not sure , he stopped coming around after a couple of years . the daughter would go play with him in the woods behind the house ,but as he got older he became much less accepting of other humans. the last time that i saw him he was so big that my kid had to drag him out of the house. she couldn't lift him up to carry him. my guess would be 30 or 40 LBS .

Hello Larry -
Welcome to EM! A Midget II is a unique little car on this forum. I found a picture on Wiki. Does it look like this? :
