Hi new here,

Name is Kirby. Just got interested in EV stuff. I was thinking of converting a Suzuki Samurai. I have a background in programming microchips and some electonic pc board layout and circuit design. I used to program and design down whole logging tools for oil wells. But that's been a while. Deffinitley will be posting and searching. Nice forum!

Welcome Kirby, Millie...

Kirby, the Samurai is a fun little thing. I saw one the other day jacked up on massive tires. But why the Samurai for your EV. Aerodynamically it might be quite limited, lessen your range...

Millie... the aerodynamic experts here (not me!) will certainly offer knowledge that will help top speeds as well as fuel efficiency... welcome...

Black and Green will be rebuilt over decades as parts die--until it becomes a different car. Goal is only 60-70 mpg at posted speeds. I'm not trying for highest possible mileage.

Calculators: standard deviation, Ohms Law, & drag HP losses.

I already have the Suzuki, and the engine isn't working either and most of it is taken apart, just the block is in it now. It's all stock. I wish there was a way to remove the transfer case that would take a lot of weight off the total, maybe 75-100lbs.

Your right about the aerodynamics which I didn't consider. I thought of using a Geo Metro but I'd have to spend more to get it. There's lots down here to choose from plus the land is flat, lol. Also it would be fun to drive it around again.
