Honda Civic VX question (egr black box)

The black box that sits on the firewall with the vacuum lines (can't remember what they are called offhand).

Since they are a bit difficult to locate for a Civic Vx, is it possible to use the a similar box from other Hondas?

88-91 Honda Crx HF came with it
90-93 Integra with EGR came with it

I picked up a black box from an Integra this week and plan to try it out, but not sure when I'll get around to installing it.

Anybody do this before?

It should work the same as the ECU uses PWM to open and close the solenoid. The only thing I would be worried about is the fact that there may be different orifice sizes for the air bleeds for eh different cars. This may not even be an issue anyways, but give it a shot and let us know how it goes.

I believe the accords from the early-to-mid 90s also had a box that would work.

Any luck?

Have you found any EGR boxes that would suffice as a substitute for the VX box?

I think i just bought a dizzy off of you on ebay. Anyway, an update or any info on the EGR "black box" would be real useful.

BIG UPDATE!! I found a VX in a junkyard today with the EGR box intact. I looked inside and found that the exact same two devices are in the 94-95 Accords. Inside there is a EGR vacuum control valve and an EGR control solenoid valve. Basically just a two prong electrical plug and two vacuum lines; one to manifold vacuum and the other to the EGR valve itself.
