I'd prefer it if people would upload the images to EM.

Dead links are more troublesome than additional bandwidth use.

Agreed, but wondered if it would be better if the policy here was to post image links to images permanently hosted or uploaded to EM, so that people browsing in the future get the same "experience" (horrible phrase in computer terms but well meaning).

As long as those uploading agree not to hotlink images hosted here to external sites and (obviously) that such images are "proper" then I think this would be better for the long term popularity of the info here.

e.g. the person re-animating this thread was frustrated the pictures are no longer available - they would have been of use to them for their own vehicle. Sharing info is after all the purpose of this site and forum is it not ?
