What do you mean gearshift indicator?

I just arrived in my old hood, Los Angeles, for a few days and Fiats are everywhere!!

I've always heard it referred to as an "idiot light".

Fortunately, my truck doesn't have one.

Yep, an indicator that suggests that the engine will be more efficient in a different gear.

OK. Some of the Fiat 500 models do. The acronym used is GSI.

I think that might be a little unfair. It's not always intuitive as to what the most efficient gear to be in is. I suspect that it is even less intuitive with the Multi Air. Probably less useful where you've got instantaneous mpg feedback though, and you can simply shift and watch the response.
