Get two 4x8 sheets of plywood, make a sandwich, and strap it securely to the roof of the car (put something like foam or blankets underneath it to increase the contact area with the roof & protect the paint).

Then drive carefully.

Actually a trailer might be what I have to do... :-\

I'll have to tape some cardboard together and see just how massive a 4x8 rectangle looks on the roof.
