I'm up to FIFTEEN people taught to drive stick. I retaught an awesome former roommate that I did a crappy job teaching the first time around due to poor location choice. My roommate brought his girlfriend along, as well as another former roommate. Half an hour in and the roommate had learned all he needed to. Lessons usually take an hour, so I offered to teach his girlfriend too. His girlfriend was already in the car, so I assume she soaked up some of the knowledge, because she learned fast too.

This accord has seen 10 students and the clutch is still as good(crappy) as ever!

16 peeps. A former classmate recognized me, and we had open schedules, so I offered to teach him. Took less than an hour, he seemed to get it from the beginning.

I like the idea of choosing my gear shifts myself, but I think I'd rather drive a duel clutch with paddle shifters.

....Maybe with a foot clutch so I can go from 6th to 1st without having to go 5th-4th-3rd-2nd on the way.

Basically you'd want to try the opposite of a motorcycle shifting pattern... But relying on paddle shifters instead of a H-pattern shifter wouldn't effectively allow you to go directly through 6th to 1st, even though with a clutch pedal you could try to emulate it (but it would take longer than simply going from 6th to 1st with a stick-shifter).
