Howdy

I'm a new comer to eco life style. I got interested in late 2005 when gas prices started to climb to a ridiculously high of $2.00 a gallon. It's been a slow transformation for me and the family but I've gone from a average house hold FE of 24 to over 50 mpg. CFL through out the house (although I'm not sure these are the best thing because of the mercury) and have dropped my driving miles down to around 8,000 miles a year. My cycling has almost caught up with the car mileage now. I just try to use less this week then I did last and am open to any idea to save energy of all kinds that is supported by fact or science. Thanks to those who guided me through the process knowing that the seeds of change take time.

Welcome to EM! I think the mercury is Ok as long as you dispose of them properly.
