I want to buy a civic vx

Hi,

I am looking for a civic VX hatchback or similar.
Or possibly a 90s civic that I can drop a VX engine into.
Please contact me if you have one to sell.
I am located in Raleigh NC.
Willing to drive up to 400 miles for the right car.

2 x Honda vx civic hatchback

Check your local craigslist. This one is in Richmond Va.

2 x Honda vx civic hatchback

There is no automatic VX, but there are other listings in Richmond. Just type "civic vx" in your search heading.

Confirm the vin (chassis number) and the engine number before driving a long way. Also a VX transmission will give you 30mph per 1k rpm, so 1k at 30, 2k at 60, 3k at 90 mph. Confirm this also to make sure you get a car in it's original configuration.

You can leave the "civic vx" and the cars and trucks category, just changing the cities and search in your distance range.

I would stay away from coastal areas due to rust issues. Also the further south the better for rust. Not sure if Jacksonville Fla is within 400 miles of Raleigh, but you could go as far as Atlanta, as far north as DC, but anywhere north of Richmond you will see more rust issues.

I would argue that for a primo southern VX, it would be worth a longer trip. You don't want any rust. So, S.C., GA, AL, MS, AR. You want a car from some place that rarely has snow and is not by the seashore. So you could do central Fla too. Snow = rust. Seashore = salt air = rust. Or maybe I am just paranoid about rust. But I don't rip my knuckles open working on old cars now that I live in GA, as I did when I grew up in Mich. Good hunting.

Thanks user removed and MobilOne, I now own a VX. 255k miles, needs some work on the front end I think. But in decent shape.
Would you have any recommendations about where to get shock/strut/cv-joint/bearing work done? Or checked?
My other car is an Accord that I usually take to the Honda dealer, but I'm not sure if that is the right thing to do for a car this old...
