Nah, I'm going to use garbage bags.

(You think I'm joking, don't you?)

I think EcoModder needs a Hall of "Often Discussed But Rarely If Ever Produced Modifications". The inflatable boat tail would definitely be a prominent exhibit. (Or non-exhibit.)

inflatable yard ornaments/advertisements

I'd consider using a coated fabric as you see with inflated holiday ornaments and commercial advertising displays.
They can be sewn and seam-sealed as you would a tent, and don't pose the glare hazard of the mylar.
The inflation fans on these commercial units could also be powered with a low power synthesized syn wave inverter.

OK, maybe I'm new to the swing of things but between the super condoms, droopage and overuse of the word "inflatable", this thread is becoming slightly pornographic .

On the non X rated side of the house, I'm working on a design that uses similar fabric and an inner frame that is still collapsable for storage, but I won't be able to show anything other than ideas for a few months yet! I promise pictures when I start building it up!

Once I can git my design tested in mylar then I can put a cover over or move to a different type of material fer a more durable, longer test.

I have a local source fer some Aerobed valve/pumps with the AC motor fer $10 each...so that might work as a quick method fer inflation/deflation.
