I'm impressed

New member. Site is in favorites but I don't know that I will ever be back. But I needed to let your community hear my impressions of what I have read. Reasonable people having reasonable discussions about what can be done on varying levels. I have read in other forums that "gov't should require all cars blah blah and then do ..." among other fanciful ideas and plans.

I would rather stop here to get some answers and opinions without a lot of political and enviormental dogma thrown in to make the point that I am somehow evil because I commute 40 miles to work.

Seems like a nice group

Welcome to EM.

If you are evil for driving 40 miles to work, I have to be the Devil for owning a Jeep . EM is a pretty cool place to be. Intelligent, level headed people here.

Welcome to EM! Feel free to lurk if need be. I commute 35 miles to work one way, so I am only 87.5% as evil as you. If, however, that's your round trip, then I am 75% more evil than you.

What I like here is the respect level. Some are doing a lot and other less, but everybody respects everybody. It's a hacker place, in the historical meaning : a place where sharing is the first goal.

Concrete's signature is (second citation today, hope he will not ask me royalties)
"Start where you are - Use what you have - Do what you can."
I have the feeling it's the implicit slogan.

Denis.
