update

*the shop thought the car would be done on the 17th.
*I went by the shop on the way here 'n met the boss in the parking lot.
*a $1,500 reconditioned pack is installed along with the new $130 controller.
*the new controller will have to be 'programmed'.
*he thinks he'll be calling me Friday to tell me that it's done, has passed inspection, and ready to pick up.
*the owner is on vacation in Colorado,so I won't be able to do the title transfer, but WILL have the car to use. We'll see.

update

the shop DID call today. They left out one wire from the battery pack and have to correct that.
Monday is supposed to be the day now,and they believe the error codes will be a thing of the past, which means I won't have to deal with a waiver from the state.

she's home (kinda)

I called the shop yesterday, they said come at 5:00 PM to pick it up.
The final skinny on the car is that she will need a completely new pack. They've configured her as a 3-cyl. ICE car, with the hybrid function disabled.
They did think that the 12-V battery would be charged.
I picked it up this AM.Made one stop in town, then went straight to Dennis's to give him the news. We'll go to the tax office Monday to do the title transfer, registration, fees, and sales tax.
She failed to turn over leaving Dennis's place.I was able to push start it and make it the short distance home.
The battery charger indicated 10% charge. After 3-hours she was at 97% and after 3-attempts to start her,she cranked and fired.I've got a fully-charged spare battery in the car.
So, I can't run the AC.I can't drive her after dark.If I drive in rain, the headlights and wipers will accelerate depletion.Even rolling the windows up or down is a drain on the battery.I'll just have to figure putting her on the charger each evening.
I'll see how she does between now and Thursday morning when I'm scheduled to go to Mineral Wells.
We're supposed to have a cold front, drop temps.Breaking down in this heat would be a bad day.
If I can rely on her at all it will allow me to tear the T-100 apart for some of the more major mods.
In late September, when the trip is behind me I can assess my situation and see where I'm at,budget wise.

Is the HV battery still in place? As I understand it, the 12v battery will still charge from the DC-DC converter with the IMA system disabled or even removed so long as the junction board is left in place.

I agree with Ecky, it should still charge the 12V if the pack is in place even if the IMA battery is shot.

My IMA battery has been turned off since May when I killed it falling asleep while discharging it , but my car still charges the 12V without any issues.

Just disconnect a 3 connectors in the rear and the battery will charge fine.

Next I strongly recommend "mudders" lithium upgrade if your going to need a new pack

When I first got mine, it needed the IMA battery charged, so it disabled it and I thought nothing of it. Suddenly one day, 12v battery got low enough that not even my display gauges would work.. barely made it home! Turned out that, after a 12v reset, shortly after the IMA light came on, the DC/DC converter wouldn't function any more. Whenever it did this, I had to reset the 12v system to get it to charge again and would for a short time. Luckily, I was able to get my battery back up to life.
