Got it this time, thanks! I'll post a pic of the base for the next guy that tries it.

Did you do the VE Enable thing? I believe the right VE RPM setting is 4500 to help out with the MPG readings on the smart Fortwo; you'd mentioned not getting very good numbers for that. Since we have a MAP sensor, not an MAF, that needs to be enabled. I'm not getting wild numbers like you reported, and I haven't had time to do a calibration yet (just got it in the mail at work today).

It has a 'Made in China' sticker on it, so I'm guessing...

Thanks for the tip. I'll try that. Maybe that was the problem. I've been getting an idle RPM of 940 which doesn't seem right.

Hmmmm, well, the VE RPM setting I mentioned is just to help with MPG readings. Why don't you think the 940 idle rpm is accurate? It doesn't seem out of range to me...
Wait - here is a whole thread discussing idle rpm - I think you're fine at 940.

Well - I can't post links yet here. There is a thread on SCOA where folks talk about idle rpm's ranging from 1300-1400 cold, 900-950 warm.

Dude, you're a great read. I hope you knew that, 'cause if you didn't it just pisses the hell out of me that you're that entertaining by accident.
