Instrumentation = win

Just got my ultragauge (which I know will probably be way off on my HX, but I needed the OBD ability). I set my alarm for PM so needless to say I was a little rushed on the way to work but still got 36 mpg. On the way back where I could slow down and pay more attention I managed 53 mpg.

I'm guessing my work place is at slightly higher elevation since that's a pretty significant difference. Will find out tomorrow. But if the ultragauge is metering correctly my real numbers should be slightly higher since it can't account for lean burn and doesn't seem to register DFCO either.

Cool beans! When you go into lean burn, even if the MPG gain isn't recorded, maybe you will see other parameters change, like the ignition timing, for example?!?!?!?

I have read that you can at least monitor lean burn by watching the rear 02 sensor. Did not have the time to set that up yet. Perhaps tomorrow on the way home.
