I would think so. But I removed mine purely to remove the weight it adds; hadn't considered impacts on retaining heat.

May have to try insulating the oil pan and valve covers solely for the sound absorption aspect...

I seem to remember the old lincoln mark 8 using a two layer oil pan for noise.

I thought hood insulation was only for acoustic reasons.

I have no idea what this thread is about.

I'm sure the air-cooled Porsche guys would get a kick out of this, because they are always trying to figure out a way to keep the temperatures down, not up.

Maybe somebody in Alaska will appreciate this thread.

Not just the air-cooled Porsche guys, eventually some Volkswagen enthusiasts would consider this thread quite odd. Unless the one who would like to try their engines with ethanol

Im using the same insulation and it is still holding up on the oil filter housing and the valve cover. The vave cover needs to be cleaned and the CCV is leaking a little but it is still holding on.
