Talking Just got me a '95 Civic CX

I'm new to the forum and am planning to start a bit of a new adventure.

I'm not new to hypermiling. My previous commuter was a '91 Civic DX and one of my first cars was a CRX. Getting 40+ mpg is basically an *expectation* I've always had. My '91 was getting a little long in the tooth at 250k miles, though still pretty good shape overall. I have managed to hit 50 mpg a couple of times with some consistency with it.

I've traded that in for a 120k miles '95 CX that appears to be in great shape. My commute is 35 miles, so 70 miles per day. 95% of which is freeway/highway. 75 mph limit for about half and 60 mph limit for the other half. I think this makes me a good candidate for aero mods, following in the footsteps of those before me.

I think I'll start out slow, I want to get a baseline of where the CX is performing before I start making changes.

Anyway, good to be here amongst like minded folks.

Excellent!
If it doesn't have a tach, I think you can swap one in from another Civic of the same generation. But maybe you already are all over that.

Good luck with your "new" car!!

Driving Lean Burn '97 Civic HX, lotsa mods by now! '89 Volvo 240 is semi-retired. I did love that car though!

I've lurked here and other places a little while, an aerocivic clone might be my end destination, we'll see how I feel when I get underway and how much energy I have when it comes to fabricating mods.

But to start I think I'll work on just getting a MPGuino up and running before I run off buying sheets of cloroplast.
