Just got my SG2, but it won't clear codes

I have one CEL code that's keeping the light on, and I believe I fixed the problem, but when I went to clear the code using the Scangauge, nothing happens, and the light stays on. The "force clear" method says "no response" every time I try it.

Any tricks on getting stubborn codes cleared out?

EDIT: Got it to clear the code, but it comes right back. Apparently, cleaning the EGR valve wasn't enough.

I've had good luck calling LinearLogic (they make the SG) with difficult questions. They did their best and were forthcoming with whatever they knew on the topic. I think you'll find their number on their site.

What is the code? Not to be mean, but you do realize the CEL is on for a reason. Maybe resolving the issue would case the light to turn off the proper way. :-p Some items will trip the CEL immediately, so you vehicle (either the tempo or the aspire) could be tripping the light for a malfunction as the code is clearing.
