Question Just Joined - Is Chrysler ever going offer high mileage in upstate NY?

Hello world,

Being a MOPAR enthusiast as well as a practicing environmentalist I wonder if Chrysler will be offering a high mileage SUV or 4 WD soon? I have a 2004 Honda Civic Hybrid and enjoy driving it and hypermiling when I can (average 49 mpg on 25 mile commute - have gotten up to 63 mpg in the summer). My other family vehicle is a 2003 Chrysler Town & Country minivan which I have gotten up to 26.4 mpg on the 160 mile run from north of Albany, NY to west of Boston through the Berkshire mountains. I am looking to replace it in 2008. I would love to go with a Chrysler product but don't see diesels or hybrids in the near term. I am currently thinking about the new 2008 Honda Pilot.

Any ideas?

I don't know anything about the newer pilot, but I've heard good things about the new generation CR-V? Do you need as much room as the pilot or would a subaru or some other smaller thing take care of your needs? Is there a special love here for chrysler? I'm a little wary of them now after the takeover, but what do I know,
