Just a rant.
OK, so on one my other forums I'm part of I asked about the .cd of my specific model thinking that this whole forum is dedicated to chevy trucks someone would know. This was the ignorance I got in return.
HERE
It really makes me kind of upset that this is the thought of a lot of people.

I've seen it plenty - doesn't surprise me.
There's a link to a thread on toyotanation.com forum about Bondo's pro-looking aeroshell that you showed the GM guys. Toyotanation freaked out as well.
Instead of being disappointed in their response, you could be heartened by the number of truck owners here who are improving things and changing a few minds.

I was kinda surprised to see as many helpful responses as there were. Coastdown testing is pretty much spot on in lieu of a number for a truck that is already lowered. I know it's hard to tune out the trash talk on your own deal, but take it from me that it is real easy to spot and filter out as an outsider looking in.

Wow man! You could be whacking weed in your backyard and enjoying it more than that exchange!
Noticed the age for at least the main offender - 26 - For some, the teenage continues for some year - arrested development.... but I could not believe no one had an answer, and would not care. What better would you expect from guys quoting Mythbusters as an authority!
But a good laugh is sometimes good for the health in these times - thank them for it!

I'm not saying all the responses were bad. It just gets me thinking when people are think i shouldn't care about my mileage just because i drive a truck, and to take a question and turn it into a bash thread. You know?

They weren't that bad, just one or two bad apples, some others having a bit of fun, and the rest actually helpful.

FYI, take a look at some of Phil Knox's collection:
The Phil Knox fleet - 34 years of aeromodding
Also note Big Dave (and a few others) are wringing out some good numbers in trucks too with aerodynamics.

A lot of forums allow flame wars, so this gets to be pretty common. The rules of that forum look to be good, but it's all a question of enforcement. I mostly ignore the bashers and respond to the rest. It's hard, but you gotta ignore the Troll (Internet) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

An Internet troll, or simply troll in Internet slang, is someone who posts controversial, inflammatory, irrelevant or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum or chat room, with the intention of provoking other users into an emotional response or to generally disrupt normal on-topic discussion.

My thoughts exactly when I read the linked thread. I didn't think it was overall that bad, just a few bad apples, but quite a few people tried to give advice based on what they know. I've seen much worse, like getting shot down by everyone for your idea.
