Just sayin' hello

Hey, My name's Nick and I came across this site while looking up stuff related to Craig Vetter's motorcycle mpg challenges.

I'm a cnc programmer in NC and just ordered a motorcycle engine to start my streamliner project and figured I might want to join here and post the progress so that anyone interested could benefit from the experience

That sounds really interesting! I've been waiting for a motorcycle ecomodder to sign up.

We see quite a few search engine queries for "motorcycle mpg" that bring people to the forum. It would be nice to be able to show them your project.

Did you buy Vetter's DVD, by any chance?

What size/kind of engine are you starting with?

And... welcome to the site.

I was going to weld up either a recumbent bike or more likely a recumbent trike. My friends are throwing a soapbox derby/party next month and I figured I could experiment with bamboo frames with that until I came up with a triangulated spaceframe I liked to use for the bike.

I hadn't picked up the craig vetter dvd mostly because I doubt that there is anything in it that isn't common sense to people who squeezing performance out of engines.

I picked up a lifan 125cc engine and I'm considering ditching the transmission portion for a couple cvts to get the range in ratios I'll want rather than having to throw in a jackshaft.

As far as my car goes, I was going to leave it as is since it is so rarely used that it is hard to justify doing anything other than maybe covering the front a little and putting an airdam all the way around
