Kammback Attempt!

Soo....what do you folks think?

*EDIT* I've added the link to the pic AGAIN; it seems to keep disappearing.

Windnoise, wipers add to that so might get less wind noise when they are covered and every bit of less noise is good

edit: Hmm, looks like that I have managed to reply into wrong place, this should of been in wiper cowl thread

Apologies about the photo missing and any confusion it caused. I learned 2 things on my drive this morning:

1). Painter's tape is SURPRISINGLY resilient even after a major thunderstorm, but there's gotta be better (this was a temporary test anyway)

2). My HORRIBLE back window vortices (from a tuft test that I did and never posted) seem to be completely gone; but I can't prove if it's an improvement or just a change.

I've been wondering if a kammback would help my Tercel sedan.

Do some coast-down testing or ABA testing. I would appreciate seeing your results. My 98 Civic coupe might benefit from a kamback too.

Black and Green will be rebuilt over decades as parts die--until it becomes a different car. Goal is only 60-70 mpg at posted speeds. I'm not trying for highest possible mileage.

Calculators: standard deviation, Ohms Law, & drag HP losses.

I don't know when I'll get to, but I'd certainly like to try. My car seems a lot quieter now with it on, for sure!

P.S. It's made from a coroplast beer sign. Check out beer/soda distributors for coroplast - they often have leftover signs that are quite large! I got 2 sheets that were 2x4 feet for free!

Translucent 3M duct tape works very well, and if you have it on for weeks (rather than months) it cleans reasonably well.

Do a couple of tankfuls, and then take it off? Fewer vortices is a good thing...

MAD crazy storms flipped it backwards on the car roof. I just took it off for the rain. I'll be making one a little better shaped anyway, now that I have a 92% accurate template....

Kammback is re-installed. It got put on partway through a tank, which when I filled this morning worked out to 40.8 MPG. I'll keep a watch on it.
