Thats a great point. A Johny popper was DESIGNED for a spacific purpose. and the flywheel was part of that design. A 720 was around 500 ci, produced 35 hp and turned 900 rpm tops. but the torque was realy high. Maybe if you designed a 500 cc engine with a big flywheel it would be driveable and get great milage. But all things being equal,weight costs mpg
