Lifetime mpg top 10 cars?????

How does a 2000 Civic beat a 2000 Insight for Top Vehicles MPG? or even an Electric Metro? How is this figure calculated (Lifetime mpg)? Maybe I'm missing something obvious here. Is this the ave mpg over the lifetime? value seems quite a bit out of range.

1. 2000 Civic 421.96
2. 1990 126P 151
3. 1976 Citicar 143.58
4. 1996 "Electro-Metro" 128.8
5. 1992 Metro EV 115.3
6. 1986 Fiero GT 107.84
7. 1978 240D 102.96
8. 1984 Fiero SE 92.21
9. 1995 E300 Diesel 86.36
10. 2000 Insight 82.8

You're right - something obviously fishy with that car.

I meant to check into it this weekend but didn't get to it. It's on the list!

sprkthead2 -

Without knowing the code, I am going to *guess* that it is because the car is consistently below EPA MPG. Also, there is a year+ break between the data.

Neither of these should effect calculations, but they are "atypical" differences between this car and others on the site, so they might have combined to uncover a bug.

Yeah, that's weird. I'd like to figure out what's going on as well.

The averages shown for each fillup look AWFUL!

Like 15-20mpg -- something is very wonky...

Ought to be fixed now. Dunno what the issue was to be honest, so I poked at it manually
