Made my 40 MPG goal. Woot!

No hard mods; only changes in driving habits and techniques I learned here. Thx ppl.

Before I started hypermiling I used to drive 75-80 on the freeway and pretty crazy around town. At that rate I could only go about 370 miles on a tank of gas. Today when I filled up I was at half a tank and had gone 300 miles! I used to be happy if I could reach 200 miles on half a tank. Needless to say I'm stoked!

Since I drive 700+ miles a week this is saving me some serious cash. I only wish I had know about this (hypermiling) earlier. Oh well! Better late than never.

Congrats Louis! My first goal too is 40 w/o serious mods. Highest yet for me is 36, but looks like I am doing better so far this tank... if I can keep my wife away from driving it.
