Maruti Suzuki selling mild-hybrid Diesels (only with manual transmission)

Models such as the S-Cross, which by the way is currently only available with this drivetrain, resort to a BAS-Hybrid setup quite similar to the eAssist fitted to some GM models with automatic transmission only. Well, this approach in an emerging market, might sound like some sort of hybridization is makingt its way to become mainstream quite soon.

I'm a big fan of manual transmissions. They are extremely durable compared to automatics. Just run both of them in mud and deep snow and see which one burns up first! Manual will win every time. Diesels are very efficient and combined with a hybrid system... seems like a win-win.

That's combined. They will likely do over 30 km/l at (Indian) highway speeds.

I don't know about Indian highway speeds, but I'd be willing to try and find out if such mileage could be achievable in Brazil and Uruguay.
