Flat black or dark grey is a heat-magnet though.

The silver dope or glossy light grey of pre-WW2 USN would be better suited - and you could use garish colour schemes on them.
When Wings of Gold really meant golden (well, yellow) wings

Hmmm. With a name like " The Flying Turd ", I think you guys might be right about the switch to Popoo green or brown. It would suit the car better. I'll have to modify the image !

As far as the EG6 " tank " Civic, that car was also inspirational for me, but I can't for the life of me understand why they went with a shiny finish !

CD that is gorgeous. I have been debating doing some P-51-Mustang-like mods on my car. I absolutely love the P-40 face on your drawing.
I was also considering (since my car is white) doing an Aperture Science logo in vinyl on the doors.

EDIT: Too bad your car isn't a Toyota. You could call it the "Flying TRD"

Here's a Scion tC that I remember seeing a few years ago. The suspension must be hard as a rock to keep the tires from rubbing the fenders! Not real road-practical, but a cool show car. Lots of rivets, louvered hood, and clear coated bare metal.

So who has a vinyl cutter for making the oil rigs/drums? One for every 55 gallon saved?

The owner of my regular forum does custom vinyl. If you get me a finalized design I can get a price for you. That is, of course, unless you find someone else to do it for you.

I love it! I was thinking of gas station fuel pumps with a red circle and line through them, but the barrel is easier to grasp I think--with "OIL" stenciled on the top half and "55" on the bottom. So I hereby steal this idea for MAX.

But I'm not going to go camo--I want to be seen by other drivers.

Nice; it works well with the boat tail. I have been pondering a new paint scheme for the Probe even though I love the dazzle. Invasion stripes are fascinating to me, and you can get Allied or Axis as well.

In WWII the black and white stripes on Allied planes kept us from shooting down our own kind by mistake. You can see them on anything from P-51's to C-47's and unpowered gliders.

This one's a Swiss plane

But here's ours.

The Germans used them in a squadron of Bf-109's that guarded the Me262 takeoff/landing strips. The distinctive red and white stripes made sure the jets didn't try to take down their friends. (Search "Platzschutzstaffel")

You will also recognize the yellow/gold stripes on Korean War-era F-86 Sabres.
