Is "doing nothing" an option?

I'm no fan of VW. But, if she likes her car as is, what is the push to do anything? Just keep the car as is and don't get it "fixed". The way your comparisons keep pointing to her current car, it seems like she's trying to find the exact car she already has.

Doing nothing isn't really going to be a logical option. She's going to get over $5k if she get its fixed. If she sells it back, shes going to get about $19k for it. The financial incentive is there to do something.

I needed to go back to 2014 to get owner data on manual versus automatic. It looks like the automatic beats the standard in the real world, too:

But the A-M hasn't been trouble free. Brother has one, on the 2nd auto clutch, still under 100,000 miles but has extended warranty. I'd only go manual or standard auto. Or go to the escape to get the standard auto.
