My journey

Since I started lurking here I have followed most of the hypermiling techniques, so far at best have only seen 37mpg but that is better than the average epa of 28! I just installed a kill switch and lets see if that produces better results. I aim to get above 40mpg, if I can obtain that I then aim to go about doing aeromods to obtain even higher numbers. So far the only mod I got is the killswitch and the car is lowered, but not sure on exactly how far I lowered it compared to stock ride height.

Welcome, Wow -- I see where you live. Most are very jealous of your "brutal" winters. You won't see the fall off in cold weather drving like most everyone else. Another month you'll see the "Whining and complaining" posts about the reformulated gas and the drop in MPGs.
On the other hand all you have to do is remind everyone about what your price per gallon is and they'll keep quite.
I bet your fuel log really racks up the dollar savings -- Your average compared to EPA at your fuel price.

Very harsh winters indeed, and yes being a college student gas prices kill me! Currently at 3.71 down from 3.88 a few weeks ago
