My Sister
Hello everyone,
My family is going through the most horrible of tragedies. On her way home Saturday night from work my 19 year old sister crossed the center line of the highway in her Cavalier and hit a Yukon head on. She died instantly. We think that she dropped something on the floor and tried to pick it up.
I just wanted to remind everyone to be careful out there. How many times have you taken your eyes off the road if only for a minute?
This is just a bad way for a 19 year old to go. Our family is dealing as best we can, but it's real hard. I would hate for this to happen again.
Please, whatever you do, BE CAREFUL OUT THERE. Do not let your guard down even for a minute.

Hi Will, that is awful. I'm sorry to hear of it.
Thanks for posting though; it seems we need reminders from time to time of the importance of paying attention on the road.
I'm not trying to diminish anything Will posted, but want to share this: Just a few days ago I was witness to a 5-car pile-up that happened right next to me while I was in the right lane and they were all in the left. It could so easily have been me in the middle of it too. The whole thing started when the #2 guy in the line wasn't paying attention and didn't notice that #1 guy had stopped to make a left turn. #2 laid on the brakes at the last second, and he might have been able to avoid rear-ending #1 were he not smacked three times in quick succession from behind. Nobody was speeding; it was all the result of tailgating and inattention. Made me think about it for quite a while afterwards.
Another time I'd come home from work and noticed a pile of glass and plastic in the street in front of my house. Turns out, a friend of mine's young daughter was fiddling around with tapes or CDs or something on the floor of the car and she totally rear-ended an unoccupied parked car. No injuries, but sure ruined her nice little car, and I never did find out how bad the other car was.
Constant vigilance!

Will,
So sorry to hear this, You and your family are in my prayers. And if you ever get down over this there are alot of us here that will help you through. PM's post whatever you need to do. RANT, RAVE, YELL just let it out. WE WILL HELP.
It may be to soon but make a positive out of it, go to schools, churches, driving classes and tell the story. If it saves one person from the pain your family has endured it is well worth it.
I recently lost a sister in law it is tough, but you are too. Just hang in there and Head up.

I am so sorry for your loss. My prayers and thoughts are with you.
I lost a friend this past Sunday in a car accident. It is not easy to deal with, but summon all the strength you can from friends, God, etc.
You will get through it.
