I'm watching a Myth Busters episode that is about gas saving devices... I'll try to see if it is on line.

I'll update, what results they get.

I watch an episode that showed drafting too last week. It works, even at 150 feet.

Hey thanks for the heads up on this 88CRX! I just had a drafting experience which pushed my metro in the 80 MPG range so I am now a true believer. Here is an episode related to what you are referring too, if there is a more recent one, please post it!

Done in a dynometer at 35, 35...

Carburated / Fuel Injection:

Magnets: Does not work
Acetone: less efficient
300 mi carb: less efficient

They missed the point with HHO...

They shut the gas off and tried to run the car straight from HHO.

Well, were they trying to bust hho as an additive or as a fuel source?

SVO, I hear ya. I stayed 1 to 2 seconds behind the rig, and was always aware of an out should an emergency arise, but I knew as long as I payed attention to the rig's speed and brake lights, I could out-stop it very easily especially at 55mph, but I was very comfortable 2 seconds behind.

They just tried the Vegetable Oil in an old Benz diesel, it worked... that we knew

But, they said that it will work in every diesel car, i'm not sure about direct injected diesels. But i believe it'll mess up something after a while.

I can get a noticable boost from drafting - no, let's say following a semi - and still be A) about the average spacing for California freeways; and B) farther from the truck than the truck is from the vehicle ahead (look at the shadows). Quite often (as for instance I205 around Tracy) I don't have much choice in following distance: leave what I think is reasonable room between me and the vehicle ahead, and someone will cut in. So I might as well follow a semi, since in addition to a boost in mpg, the driver's less likely to make abrupt speed/direction changes.

I just like to make sure random readers don't think we're advocating what is traditionally called drafting. I'm fine following a truck, but I won't get closer than I normally would in traffic for the sake of FE,
