90+ mpg to work and back

It's only 3 miles round trip, but hey, that makes it more impressive right?

I got ~60 mpg to work this morning (uphill) and 128 mpg coming back home. This includes hitting a stoplight each way, 2 stop signs enroute and 1 coming back.

My coolant temps never broke 140

Very Impressive! Short trips pose their own set of challenges but have unique opportunities as well.

Thanks everyone! I busted 100 mpg roundtrip today I'll make a new thread about that in a lil bit.

You're right puddleglum. The unique opportunity for me is that it is almost all uphill there, but almost all downhill back to my house. I hate having to deal with cold enrichment though!

I know what you mean. The first 1/2 -1 mile takes a hit and it doesn't leave much time to make it up. I don't really like to EOC a stone cold engine either. I don't in the morning cause I have a hill to climb first thing, but find if I can do a couple of gentle EOC's right away on my return trip, It seems to ease the hit. Might be my imagination though. Hard to tell cause my return trip usually starts out stuck in a traffic jam. Nice to find another short trip commuter. have fun with it.

Sure, that's great. It would be nice to reach this all the time.

The best I ever reached on a long trip has been 98MPG for 15 miles. This only was possible because I've been all alone on the road, no need to use the breaks, P&G from 30 to 40MPH with EOC.
