I'm thinking with the short commute that a block heater on a timer might do the trick...
the 6 cyl in the dakota never got great mileage, much like Jeep 6 cyl.

Your transmition is a decendant of the 727 torque flight. A good shift kit and
some good fluid will help out a bunch, the stock valve body overlaps the shift terribly...
