I used the Phil Knox template to create this image. If a add on boat tail were to be created it probably would be no longer then 4 feet and attached using a bicycle mounting frame attached to the rear lift gate.

This Audi A2 started at Cd 0.288 and got down to Cd 0.204 sealing and blocking,mirror delete,and shallow box-cavity,without any overall lengthening.
Perhaps the Energi will react likewise.And length should help too

Renault Vesta-II got to Cd 0.187 with very skinny tires

I normalized the 2.0 liter on board engine for my Ford C Max Energi to 100 miles along with the electric motor operation so we could compare the two side by side. In EV mode we over 3 times as much efficiency. See the chart.
