FA5 - '010 Civic Si

New Guy here. 2010 Honda Civic Si sedan.

Hi All,

I drive a 2010 Honda Civic Si Sedan. The major modications that are hurting my FE is the wider/heavier wheels + wider tires (245 tires vs stock 215), plus larger/heavier sway bars. The EPA rating is 21 city/29 hwy, and with my aggressive driving (always 80+ MPH on the highway, redlining, etc). I've averaged only 21.5mpg with 35% city and 65% highway driving, driving about 30 miles roundrip per day.

Lately I've stopped driving aggressively and kept the speed below 66MPH. I've been able to increase my mpg to 26.8mpg.

My goal is to be comfortably above 30mpg with my current setup (I love twisty roads). I recently bought a Scangauge II to help achieve my goals.

I'm going to mostly lurk/research, and pop in for a question or two, but I just want to say hi .

Welcome to the forum.

The slower you go the better MPG you will get. So if you can go 55 or 60MPH on the highway you'll get even better MPG.
