BMW call it the Air Curtain - we've had a thread on that before.
I'm not referring to the air curtain, but the tire-spat represented in seconds 0:43-0:50 of the video in post #39. it has a narrow rectangular horizontal slit in it. That's what I'm questioning. The air curtain thing from BMW is really about the interaction of the bumper cover and wheel well.
