New Stirling Engine Hybrid Car

The guy who invented the Segway has a new Stirling engine hybrid. The engine is not used to drive the car directly, It is used to charge the batteries only. This approach is probably the most suitable for the Stirling engine car since the Stirling engine runs best with a constant load and rpm.

Doh!!!!

Well I guess I can't be the first to know about everything. At least more exposure of this story isn't a bad thing.

mm. . . read the article and now I would like some toast and eggs. . .

Stirlings are like turbines unfortunately.

No one produces them in small, efficient packages. You can get toys, or 25KW. Now chose.

The 25KW pack is way too big for a car(unless you are driving a SUV hybrid).
