Newb with a gas guzzler.

Hey Ya'll!

I'm sure everyone loves when someone with a big lifted truck joins a site about fuel mileage...

It's ok. I have a big truck because I live in a mountain town (Los Alamos, NM) ~7500 ft elevation. We can get a decent amount of snow, and I LOVE going out and wheeling in the woods. The truck has it's purpose.

Picture of the current truck (everyone loves pictures right?)

Tomorrow I am looking at a 97 Sentra SE-R. I know, not the most eco-friendly, but when you've had nothing but big V8 trucks (up to and including a 01 Ford Lightning 380 hp!) I can't go tooo slow, I'll go crazy! I figure the Sentra will be a nice compromise. Gets mid 20s stock. And get this, it needs a new front bumper, so making up a nice air dam (spoiler? whatever ya'll call it) won't be too bad.

Anywho, I stumbled across the site the other day and got hooked. I love people pushing things to the max. I find it amazing that people will go so far as to run w/o an alternator. I think I'm doing good when I slow down to 65 on the interstate.

So far I have done a TopGun 1.5" Coil Spacer, 20" MB Bruizer Wheels (These where off my lowered 99 Ram) 275/65R20s (34") Goodyear Load Range Es (With these at 60 PSI I actually get 1 mpg better than with my old 285/50R20s which where a street tire). I have a generic 12x2 air cleaner, Flex-a-lite 188 Electric Fan, Hypertech programer, and some exhaust (previous owner) someday to be replaced with a nice free flowing 3" setup y pipe on back.

Oh yea, I just put on the cab lights. =)

I am easy on the woods, mainly because it's easy on the truck! I love flexing it out in reveenes and old tree stumps etc, but as for tearing up the woods, nah, not in my baby. I stick to the trail about 99% of the time (other than driving on random dead objects)
