Newbie from Chicago

Hi everyone, I'm Buckel248. I live in the Western Suburbs of Chicago (North Aurora), and I've been hypermiling for about 2 years. I drive a 2007 Subaru Impreza, and even though it's not the greatest car to start with (22 mpg), I manage to squeeze 29.5 - 30.3 mpg out of every tank. The car is a lease, so I'm not doing any mods right now, but next April I'll be buying something with better mpg, and the mods will begin! I've written a couple of articles about Hypermiling for some "thrifty" blogs, so now I'm happy to find a forum with like-minded thinkers!

I think they have all been taken down, except for maybe the one at CheapStingyBargains.com. I had to condense that article quite a bit, but I think it came out pretty well. At least, there was a pretty heated discussion about it!

There are a lot of folks from this area, we should have a cookout or hypercookout or something (bet I can cook a burger with the least number of sticks)
