Newbie Ford Tempo owner

Hello! I found this site looking for information on vortex generators, and seeing that there's tons of other discussions for aero mods, I thought I'd drop in.

I'm actually more interested in eliminating aerodynamic lift than anything, and if I can decrease drag at the same time, all the better.

My car is a 1991 Ford Tempo GL, and I've already done a couple of aero mods.

The first thing I did was install hood vents to reduce front-end lift and promote increased engine cooling.

Second, I pulled that flap under the radiator forward to act like a scoop, so that if either air is pushed up by it, or air pushes down on it, downforce will be created. ^^

Third, I installed some tire spats in front of the rear tires, using my front license plate holder for material. Turns out they're the full width of the tread!

I'm considering vortex generators, since the rear window angle on a '91 Tempo is about 35 degrees, give or take, but I first want to find out if I'll be increasing lift by using them. If that's the case, I'll pair them with a decklid spoiler to counter that lift.

I'll probably be posting around...

Welcome to ecomodder! I'm not sure if you're looking to actually reduce fuel consumption or not, so most of your answers will be geared towards that. Scoops and such aren't exactly the best for that kind of thing

Welcome to EM! Frank Lee knows a lot about Tempos, so he may give you some pointers.
