I've notice that too, and I was going to post on it. Today I was thinking about how a hypermiler saves gas on several cars at a time. I watched one lady on her phone follow me for 5 miles. As soon as she got off the phone she moved to the fast lane and floored it.

I love putting around on my scoot at 10~15 mph in a residential area (15 mph speed limit) and getting blown by by a huge SUV and the person gunning it like I"m holding up there time.

Only for me to putt putt up to them at the stop light and me ride up to the stop light, and get ahead of them again. Then they REALLY fly by me.

Most people seem to think that public roads are raceways, it seems.

I saw someone in an LS400 at ~55-60mph the other day and thought "right on!", until I passed 'em and saw the cell phone. I think I'm the only I've seen on the routes I take. While I don't want to pay extra at the rate of $10-20/hour in order to get places sooner, it seems like the vast majority of Californians don't give a rat's ass. They must have some pretty cushy jobs.

While I'm sure we can all agree gas prices have always been on the rise, I think this information is easily misinterpreted for a false positive. Look at 2005 it started off a lot better than 2004 then went back into the average.

I don't drive on freeways much anymore, but I am with Compaq, apparently I am always inconveniencing someone more important than I when I take the wheel.

In other completely unrelated news, 4.5% of California's population last year packed their bags and headed north.

Why north and not east?
