News: Ford to Re-Open the Canadian "Essex" Factory for the "EcoBoost" Engine Series

Ford has a rich history in engine manufacturing across the border from Detroit at their "Essex" powertrain facility. After decades of service, it was boarded-up and workers laid-off. Today, Ford has decided to re-open the plant to manufacture the "EcoBoost" series of engines. The EcoBoost boasts twin turbochargers, gasoline direct injection, E85 capability, Variable Valve Timing, and Cylinder Deactivation. Ford claims an approximate 20% FE increase. Rumor has it that small 4-cylinders could get the same treament. RH77 |
