The $11.9k Leaf doesn't look bad at all. Might be able to get away with 1 door skin on the right rear, straighten and paint everything else as long as the side air bags did not go off.

Very interesting and thanks for the information, but for now I think I'll wait a while and let them possibly come down some more.

regards
Mech

Yeah, all but the one leaf that had frontal damage looked pretty good. Id consider driving any of those cars and maybe not even attempt to repair them unless the aero is soo screwed up.

Notice no trades or financing?

The Volts seem to be screaming for some backyard-bodywork

The one without headlights could be fitted with LEDs all-around

Any of those except the frontal damage Leaf could be driven as is. Certainly found myself behind the wheel of cars with more damage than that.

Maybe they were rental or demo cars? Ive seen totaled Insights for sale when I use to browse for Insight accessories they would pop up in the searches. There is no way 3 of those cars were considered totaled.

Are there Volts and LEAFs already available at car rentals back there? The Volt doesn't seem quite compromised, but the LEAF is still less practical for some uses for a rental car such as tourism...

I read a kelly blue book article last year saying that if you buy a volt, expect its resale value to tank before you can hardly start to pay down the ballance of the loan.
I think they said to expect a 3 year old, perfectly good volt to go for 18k.

Looks like 2011s on ebay are topping out for around 20k.

The saqd part of this is that I could have bought one of the 3 MIEVs out in Maine at a stealership after rebates etc (lease even took off everything) for $11,900 out the door .9% interest, no down payment, brand new, no damage, never titled on a clearance, I tried getting ahold of the basterds and they wouldn't call me back, bleh and to think I would have to buy a damaged unit to get to the same price as a new one with full warranty!
