Now, it IS true that cold weather diminished a battery's capacity - temporarily. The chemistry works that way. When the weather warms up again, it comes back to life. What I've experienced is a heat-damaged battery finally giving in when the cold comes - it was marginal in good weather, but not enough in the cold.

Edit: What he said. If anyone knows, and EV driver in Wisconsin would.

The cold slows batteries down so as they age a battery that might be good on a warm day will suddenly appear to die, what does kill a battery is uneven temperature, like sitting on a cold concrete floor, or insulation on just one side of it, not sure why, but I got the info from an engineer.
