That ain't nothin' next to the Richmond Costco parking lot on a Saturday, or the 3 blocks surrounding Yaohan center on a Sunday at lunch time haha.

As for spotted eco cars, I always figured an early Miata must be one in a way, after all it's light, small displacement, etc. I picked one up a while back and finally drove it today, I thought maybe since it's rear wheel drive I'd like it more than my Del Sol. And while it handles great, holy crap it has crazy gearing in it! The rear diff has a 4:30 ratio, and on those short little 14 inch tires, I was running around 2200 RPM in 5th gear - at 58 KM/H (36 MPH)!

It's a '91 I think, 5 speed, 180k KMs (111k miles)They rev to the moon and will run all day at high RPM, but it just soaks up fuel on the highway, considering you aren't even going fast with all those RPMs! If you never left town they would probably be really decent for city FE given no power steering, light weight, and city friendly gearing, but if you have to go over 50 MPH don't expect it to do it in an FE friendly way!

I haven't seen an American Ford Escort SW for a long time...

Some random Suzuki-based copy of the Smart ForTwo.

The rounded-headlamps wagons are still among my favorite versions of the Corolla.

Fiat Palio Adventure, just a compact wagon with a fancy off-road trim? These ones are 2WD, but at least have a locker differential...

Gurgel Tocantins

Chevrolet Celta used as a taxi in my hometown.

Fiat Doblo ambulance

Who says FWD coupe-utilities were useless???

And this one, a Brazilian Ford F-350 with the Cummins ISF2.8 engine. Their design was not updated since '99, but this one is a '14 model-year.

It's a Volkswagen-based mini SUV which was made in Brazil from late-80s to early-90s, but you'd have a hard time trying to find one. They were not made in huge quantities, and exports were kinda limited.

Yes I wanted it. No I didn't buy it:

1986 Prelude Si. 176k miles (283k KMs), all stock except for those ugly wheels, one of which is bent so it drives horribly. Plus it's an Si so it has fuel injection.

Sadly, it had the deal breaker between the seats:

Well I've never seen one of these before, in person anyway. 2014 Cadillac ELR. I dig the grill.

I rode in an ELR with Mom when she test drove one. The salesman either lied or didn't know know his facts when he told us it was a V6 with an 8 speed transmission. It's actually a gussied up Volt and they aren't selling well. Once Pop realized it was based on a the Volt he was not interested, especially at a $30k plus premium over the standard ALS coupe which they may still buy later when the prices get better.

regards

I like the looks -- I've never seen one in person though.

Outside of my snack bracket, that's for sure!
