I did not get either of them, thankfully. The Sundance actually had more than one bid on it, I started off at $200 and walked away when it hit $350. My mission was just to rescue it from getting scrapped! I don't know what it actually sold for, but it didn't go to the scrap guy, and it wasn't on the auction block for long, so it was cheap, whatever it was. The Mitsuoka went across the auction block and...it didn't show up in their computer system when it did. So they had no information on it, or any idea what the reserve price was. That happens once in a while there, someone enters something wrong into the system and the auctioneer has nothing to work with on his screen when the time comes. It drew quite a crowd, I don't think anyone actually wanted it, they were just standing around to see who would actually bid on it! I saw lots of pointing and laughing. It will run through again next week, hopefully this time they will get their act together.

As an aside, I really do not want that thing! Out of curiosity I looked up other ones for sale and found one, in Japan, for $35,000 US. I wouldn't pay $3500 for it! OK I would if I could then sell it back to someone in Japan for $35,000 but I find it hard to believe that anyone would fork out good money on one of these. Don't get me wrong, I dig all sorts of weird cars, but good gravy this thing is just ugly!

They're unusual cars, and they're based on the Nissan Silvia. The Nissan Silvia is already a bit pricey secondhand because of "drift tax". I don't doubt the Le Seyde prices are tracking Silvia prices.

Hmmm... looking it up... there are only 500 Le Seydes in the world. Should have snapped it up. You definitely could have sold it for more than you bought it for.

Sorry for the double post. Been busy the past month, and I've had the pleasure of driving a few... uh... weird cars.

One was this motorcycle, an EV with a 6kW motor... well, technically a 6kw motor, but it has an 18 hp burst mode, which is pretty entertaining... making it quick enough for a potential 80 mph.

Another was this:

A BYD e6, which has the biggest battery pack I've ever seen. 300 kilometers of range on a single charge, which eliminates range anxiety for a big cross section of buyers, though it's still too short for many suburban and rural Americans, I gather... at least as long as compatible quick chargers aren't handy.

I kinda like K-cars for some reason.

I saw a weird ass car today. BMW badge. Haven't looked it up but I'm thinking one of their newfangled eco-cars I know nothing about.

Ugly.

Was it an i3 maybe?

Quite neat, its mostly carbon fiber, and either electric or, hybrid-electrid driven.

I was passed by an i8 today on the freeway. Interesting looking car, low and wide like a proper sports-car. I was unable to take a picture because, you know, driving...

But not too lazy to put up a contentless post? You're soooo close.
